About the event

What to expect: In these five days, we will offer daily Yoga practice, daily Meditation, Mantra Chanting, Breathing Exercises, insights into Yoga Philosophy, Hiking and Being in nature. Overall, we want to offer you the opportunity to practice yoga while enjoying and relaxing in our beautiful garden surrounded by nature in Tovo Faraldi, Italy. All levels of practitioners are welcome.

Retreat essentially means to withdraw yourself from your daily life so that you can see things as they really are. Our intention is to create a safe space where we can be in silence and contemplate as well as interact and exchange with the community around us.

Place: The retreat will take place in Tovo Faraldi, a tiny old village embedded in olive groves on the north-western coast of Italy. It’s a typical Ligurian villa with several double rooms, three balconies, and a big garden on three levels overlooking the sea. Some paths through oak wood go around the village and bring you into the charming nature of the Mediterranean, where lavender, thyme and other herbs grow wild. On the hilltops you can walk for hours with sea view and enjoy silence and nature.

Accommodation and Food: There are eight beds in the house in four comfortable double rooms. Camping in your own tent and/or camper vans is welcome too. We will have three vegan meals served each day: a delicious breakfast, a filling lunch and a warm, light dinner. For the “in between”, there will be snacks and fruits available as well as tea and coffee.

Investment: We would like to make this retreat inclusive for everyone. That is why we offer a flexible price range from which you can choose an amount that you feel fits your possibilities.

Options:

a) Double room, Food and Yoga classes: 800 – 900 CHF, choose an amount that suits you;

Who we are:

Ladina Yoga found me during my exchange year in the Philippines in 2014 and stayed ever since. In the turbulent years ahead, not knowing where my path would lead me, I decided to practice and study Yoga more intensively. This decision ultimately brought me to India where I studied at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute (AYI) with Saraswati Jois. During this period, I deeply felt that this practice was an anchor, and I could feel its wonderful effects which allowed me to be steady, calm, focused and joyful. A year later, I went back to India to do a CYS 300-hours Yoga teachers training and to practice at the Institute once again. This is when, because of our shared love for Ashtanga and AcroYoga, I met Daniel, my partner and co-host of this retreat. In Switzerland I practiced for several years with Martyna Syguda from Ashtanga Yoga Lucerne and since 2021 in Bern at the Ashtanga Yoga Club. Through the growing awareness and sensitivity that came with my practice, I found my way to permaculture and realized how little I know about nature. Eager to learn, I decided to become a gardener and learn about the plant world. My dream is to combine these two heart topics of mine in Tovo, the place my great-grandfather acquired many years ago, and which is a second home to me. In the retreat, I will guide you through the Yoga classes, Chanting, Meditation and Ecstatic Dance.

Dani Looking for a relieve from my intense corporate job life, I started practicing Ashtanga Yoga in Tel Aviv back in 2016, where I lived at that time. Not long after I started practicing, I undertook first trainings and finished my 500 hours CYS Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training. The more I learned, the more I felt the need to further investigate the wonders of Yoga. Eventually I quit my job, sold all my possessions, and left my life in Israel to move to India where I undertook a two-year Yoga Teachers Training at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM), India. During this period, I also travelled around South East Asia, teaching my own workshops entitled “Yoga of the Heart” in Malaysia, and volunteering at farms and guesthouses in Nepal and India. At the last stage of my studies, during a trip to Mysore to practice Ashtanga Yoga, I met Ladina, my now partner and co-host of the retreat. I am very interested in Yoga Philosophy and how to incorporate it in daily life. In the retreat, I will teach breathing classes and Yoga Philosophy.

Karin Karin, or as we call her; Mama, is the third generation owning this beautiful place and has a long history of attending various seminars, workshops and courses in Coaching, Spirituality and Meditation. Throughout her life, these topics provoked her curiosity and had her finding different ways to integrate them in her life. Until today, she has worked as a curative teacher all the while having raised three daughters on her own. Having a lot of life experience and a profound resilience, she is a well of inspiration to us and can talk for hours about philosophy, literature, art and cinema. Mama will cook for us during the retreat and help wherever it is needed while sharing her stories from Tovo and taking us on secret walks in the olive groves.
